I spent three nights at Globe Et Cecil and was impressed by the quirky decor and spaciousness of my room. although I could see that some areas, like the corridors, could use a refresh. The location was fantastic, making it easy for me to explore the city. However, the breakfast experience was a letdown, as it was overpriced and lacked variety, which impacted my overall enjoyment.

My corner room on the third floor was bright, spacious, and very clean, though the bathroom was compact. I did notice some areas need updating.
Service
10.0
The staff were amazing—friendly and attentive, always eager to offer recommendations for local dining. I appreciated their personal touch, especially when one staff member checked in on me at a restaurant he recommended.
Location

The hotel is perfectly situated in the center of Lyon, close to shopping and only a short walk to the older parts of town, making it very convenient for sightseeing.
Dining
5.0
I regret opting for breakfast at the hotel, as it was limited and not a great value for what I paid. I would skip it on my next visit.
Facilities
6.0
While the on-site restaurant offered good food in a casual setting, I felt the overall dining options could be improved significantly.

My stay at Globe Et Cecil was a mixed experience. The hotel's location was fantastic, making it easy to explore Lyon on foot, but the rooms desperately need renovations. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, which made my time there enjoyable, but the overall state of the accommodations was disappointing.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were outdated and in need of serious upgrades. The carpets were worn and dirty, and some amenities felt like they belonged in a different era. However, the newly renovated bathrooms provided a refreshing touch.
Service
10.0
The staff were the true stars of my experience. They were sharp, attentive, and eager to help, making me feel right at home. Whenever I needed assistance or recommendations, they were always available and very knowledgeable.
Location
10.0
The hotel's location was perfect. I was close to Place Bellecour and the vibrant shopping area, which allowed me to immerse myself in the heart of Lyon easily. Everything I wanted to see was within walking distance.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was good. The on-site restaurant offered a lovely ambiance, and while the breakfast could have been more substantial, the overall quality of food was excellent.
Facilities
6.0
While the facilities included useful amenities, some aspects felt outdated. Improvements in room features and technology would make a significant difference, but the central location and inviting reception area were definite perks.

I had a mixed experience at Globe Et Cecil. The location was fantastic, making it super easy to explore Lyon, but the room left a lot to be desired. It was pretty tiny and dark, and the bathroom was cramped too. The staff were friendly and attentive, which definitely helped my stay, yet I felt the room just didn’t meet the four-star standard they advertised.

Rooms
6.0
My single room was small and lacked a proper window, making it feel a bit claustrophobic. The bathroom was so tiny that I ended up flooding it while showering. Not what I expected for the price.
Service
8.0
The staff were sharp and pretty helpful. They gave me great local recommendations and were attentive during my stay. Their friendliness was definitely a highlight.
Location
9.0
The location is unbeatable! I could walk to almost all the major sights and restaurants, which made my trip much more enjoyable. I felt safe exploring the area, even at night.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was decent, but I found it a bit overpriced for what was offered. I wish there had been more variety, but the presentation was nice.
Facilities

The hotel offered some good facilities like room service and housekeeping, but I did notice some maintenance issues like loose screws in the room. They could use a bit of an upgrade.

I enjoyed my stay at Globe Et Cecil, particularly because of its central location and friendly staff. The clean and well-kept interior gave the hotel a welcoming atmosphere. However, the limitations on amenities in the room and the issues with the elevator detracted from the experience a bit.

Rooms
7.0
The room I stayed in was appropriately sized for a European hotel, and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious, which I appreciated. However, I found it disappointing that there were no coffee-making facilities in the room, and the decor felt a little dated.
Service
8.0
The staff were genuinely lovely and very helpful throughout my stay. They provided great recommendations for local dining and attractions, although I did encounter a few instances where the response was less than enthusiastic during busy times.
Location
9.0
The hotel’s location was fantastic, just a short stroll from Lyon’s main attractions and well-connected to the metro and tram systems. It made exploring the city so much easier, which I really appreciated.
Dining
6.0
I enjoyed the breakfast buffet even though I felt it was a bit overpriced. The selection and quality were decent, but I wish there had been a bit more variety to justify the price.
Facilities

While the hotel had some nice amenities, I noticed the elevator was quite small and not in the best shape. The public areas appeared to need some refreshing and deep cleaning.

I had a pleasant stay at Globe Et Cecil, thanks to its central location and comfortable beds. though there were a few hiccups. While the cleanliness was commendable, the amenities were quite minimal, with no fridge or coffee machine in the room. Despite the WiFi issues and the lack of a robust breakfast option, the warm service from the staff made my experience enjoyable overall.

Rooms
